Storytelling

If I’ve learned one thing throughout my career, it’s that everyone has a story to tell. That’s true for organizations and brands as well. Whether through words, pictures, graphics or video, I can help you tell your story and that of your customers, supporters or those you support.

I’m an expert at researching, interviewing and analyzing people and data to get to the story underneath it all. I’m especially intrigued by the under-told stories of people who have been ignored by the mainstream because it’s often the stories that haven’t been heard that carry the greatest value.

 

Content Creation and Strategy

So you’ve got a great story to tell. How will you tell it? Content creation and strategy is about taking a story and turning it into lots of different pieces of content that will help it reach the maximum audience and penetrate the dense fog of other content swirling around your client or supporter to connect with them.

I can help you take your story and develop it into content suited to different marketing channels, from web pages to magazine articles, from social media posts to white papers. And I can help you plan the release of that content to reinforce your key messages and achieve business objectives.

Analytics

How do you know whether your marketing and communications efforts are hitting the target?

I’ve created metrics to track successes in web, social, email, earned media and more to help continuously learn and refine efforts, using tools such as Google Analytics, Sprout Social, Meltwater and more.

Digital Marketing

More than half of marketing spending today take place in digital channels. But many organizations don’t have a coherent strategy to guide that spending to achieve business goals. I can put together a digital marketing plan based on strategic business goals that identifies the right channels to use - whether it’s web, social, email, search, display or mobile or a combination thereof.

As a Certified Digital Marketing Professional, I can envision tactics to use in service of those objectives, analyze them for resources and impact, and put together a plan and schedule for using the best channels and tactics to achieve your goals.

Beyond that, I have the training in digital marketing tools to ensure that those tactics are executed effectively and yield the greatest result for your organization.

Project Management

Project management is a vital part of any successful marketing and communications effort. Many great ideas die because they turn into projects that are too resource-intensive or fall behind schedule.

As a Certified Professional Project Manager, I know how to conduct stakeholder analysis, assign responsibility and build a project team, conduct a feasibility analysis, define a project’s scope, diagram a project’s path from start to finish, mitigate risk, monitor cost and schedule and bring a project to a successful conclusion.

Media Relations

As a former member of the media, I have experience being pitched on stories and know what catches a busy reporter’s attention. I can help cultivate and manage relationships with members of the media who can help your organization’s story get wider external exposure. I have experience building earned media campaigns to gain visibility around key objectives.
